Welcome to the M.A.D.A.O.S Website!

March and District Amateur Operatic Society was formed in 1957 and has presented a 'main' production at Easter every year since 1958.  Since 1989 the society has also performed a second annual revue style production, usually at the end of October.

Our next show is Calamity Jane and the society is pleased to welcome Michele Larkin as director once again, and Neil Keer in his M.A.D.A.O.S debut as musical director.  The show will run from Wednesday 14th April to Saturday 17th April 2010 at the Neale Wade Community College, March, with an additional matinée performance on Saturday.  The Box Office is open in Sainsbury's from Friday 2 April 2010 with tickets priced at £12.00 for raised seating and £8.00 for flat seating. Concessions at £10.00 and £6.00 are available for performances on Wednesday evening and the Saturday matinée

A downloadable booking form is available here.

Next year's Easter production is confirmed as Mack and Mabel, subject to licensing.  Further details of audition and rehearsal dates will be published later this year.

The NODA  review of the recent Country Roads show, directed by Kerry Casey is now available, and can be viewed here

Don't forget to help raise funds for MADAOS whenever you shop online with Easy Fundraising!!

In our pursuit of raising funds, we have registered the Society at www.easyfundraising.org.uk.  They provide a FREE service where you can shop with your favourite on line stores AT NO EXTRA COST and raise funds for MADAOS.  You still shop directly with each retailer as you would normally but simply by using the links from the easyfundraising site first, each retailer will make a cashback donation to us.

If you already shop online, why not help us at no extra cost for the purchases you would make anyway.

Further information can be found at the easy fundraising website or please ask Claire Lilley if you have any questions.

MADAOS are always keen to welcome new members to the society, and not just those who are drawn to the spotlight.  We are always keen to welcome helpers in a backstage or front of house role, so if you are a dab hand with a paintbrush, or useful with a tea urn, please get in touch using the details on our 'Contacts' page.

A plea from the MADAOS backstage co-operative! We are desperate for a more suitable workshop and storage facilities in order to continue making our own sets.  If you have some space in a dry barn, warehouse, industrial building or the like, with lighting, electricity and access to water, ideally within a five mile radius of March, please let us know (again using the details on the 'Contacts' page).  We would be happy to negotiate a rent for the use and upkeep of the space.

M.A.D.A.O.S is a member of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA). For more information on NODA and its aims please visit their website
