Welcome to the M.A.D.A.O.S Website!

March and District Amateur Operatic Society was formed in 1957 and has presented a 'main' production at Easter every year since 1958.  Since 1989 the society has also performed a second annual revue style production, usually at the end of October.

The Easter production to be performed from Tuesday 14th April to Saturday 18th April 2009 is Copacabana. The show will be directed by Michele Larkin, with musical direction from Ivan Garford and ticket pre-booking for cast is available at rehearsals on 17th and 19th March.

The booking hotline opens on Friday 20th March and closes on 2nd April.  Following a 'launch' in the Market Square on 28th March, the box office will open in Sainsburys from 10am to 6pm on 3rd April 2009 and then from 10am to 2pm until 17th April.  The box office will not be open on Sundays or Good Friday.

You can now download the ticket booking form from our site.  Just fill it in, and return it to the address shown, together with your payment, to book your tickets.

Copacabana Official Launch - MADAOS will hold an official launch of their forthcoming production of Barry Manilow's 'Copacabana' on 28th March 2009 from 9am in the Market Square, March.  During the launch, tickets will be on sale prior to the official box office opening on 3rd April, and there will be the opportunity to enter 'Silver Sam's Super 6's' competition to win a luxury holiday to Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro in association with Deeping Travel, March at  just £1.00 per go.

The Copacabana after-show party will take place at Whitemoor Prison Social Club on Saturday 25th April and tickets will be on sale throughout show week.

France 2009 - MADAOS have once again been invited to put on a show for the residents of St Jean de Braye, and we are hoping to go over with a cast to put on a version of 'Best of British', once again directed by Sally Rose, with Ivan Garford as Musical Director.  The proposed date of the trip is Saturday 23rd to Wednesday 27th May 2009, and members of the society interested in going along should contact their members rep.

Don't forget to help raise funds for MADAOS whenever you shop online with Easy Fundraising!!

In our pursuit of raising funds, we have registered the Society at www.easyfundraising.org.uk.  They provide a FREE service where you can shop with your favourite on line stores AT NO EXTRA COST and raise funds for MADAOS.  You still shop directly with each retailer as you would normally but simply by using the links from the easyfundraising site first, each retailer will make a cashback donation to us.

If you already shop online, why not help us at no extra cost for the purchases you would make anyway.

Further information can be found at the easy fundraising website or please ask Claire Lilley if you have any questions.

MADAOS are always keen to welcome new members to the society, so if you have ever felt a desire to appear on stage, or help out in a backstage role, please get in touch using the details on our 'Contacts' page.

A plea from the MADAOS backstage co-operative! We are desperate for a more suitable workshop and storage facilities in order to continue making our own sets.  If you have some space in a dry barn, warehouse, industrial building or the like, with lighting, electricity and access to water, ideally within a five mile radius of March, please let us know (again using the details on the 'Contacts' page).  We would be happy to negotiate a rent for the use and upkeep of the space.

A further plea!! The society desperately needs a wardrobe mistress.  We hope to have additional volunteers to assist and make it more of a team effort, but every ship needs a captain, and we need someone who will co-ordinate it.  As before, please use the details on the 'Contacts' page to get in touch.
